Mishloach Manot must be sent on the day of Purim and not on Purim night. One who sends mishloach manot on Purim night does not fulfill his/her obligation. The same is true for matanot l'evyonim and the Purim Seudah. The reading of the megillah is performed both at night and in the day but really the main obligation to hear the megillah is in the day. This is based on a pasuk in the megillah and all of the mitzvot of the day are learned one from the other.
